A short and sweet update this week as I was super busy and didn’t have a whole lot of time to write. It was a pretty low key week in the end, aside from a quick bus trip to Philly for the DC United match.
Apparently I really like ankle pants… I have rediscovered how much I love my Chucks slip-ons. They are significantly more comfortable than regular Chucks when wearing them for long periods of time.
Tosses & Swaps
The green maxi dress bit the dust in the washing machine this weekend. I had hoped to make it through August and September with it, but a few more holes appeared after going through the laundry, so it’s now in the trash I have swapped in an aqua-colored button down top to replace it.
I have also decided to remove my shoes from my item count and open up my full arsenal of summer shoes for the rest of this phase. Which is really only like, an additional 3 or 4 pairs. They are the only thing I really miss (I honestly thought it would be bags/purses), and I would like to take the opportunity to wear a few of the pairs that have been packed away, and made the cut with last week’s purge, to make sure I want to keep them in the long run. However, I will not be adding any clothing items to fill the 4 spots that have theoretically opened up by removing shoes from the capsule. Since it starts to get cool enough to wear boots around mid-September, I’m hoping this will also let me make final decisions sooner than October/November on those as well.
I was pretty good this week! I only bought a JT/Jay-Z Tour tee and the moccasins that were on my Fall Purchase list. I went back and forth on the tour t-shirt for 5 minutes before the show before deciding to not purchase it. Even though I loved the design, I’m not huge on concert tees. But I kept thinking about it, and thinking about it, during the show, and ended up purchasing it on the way out. The mocs are a replacement pair for the pair that died last winter. I’m pretty impressed with myself for getting them at over 50% off at DSW between the fact they were on clearance, and an additional 30% off, and I had a $10 Rewards Certificate to use. I hope my new Minnetonkas last 5 years like that last pair did! Bonus, these are actual shoes, instead of slippers that I kept insisting were shoes.
Mani of the Week!
I absolutely loved this manicure, and was actually sort of sad to take it off when I did my manicure for the DCU match on Saturday. In an effort to try and get my untried nail polishes under 100 by October 1, I am trying to do accent nails to knock two polishes out with one manicure. I love how the pink glitter ties in my accent nail is brought out by the pink on my other nails. I felt a little girlie with this mani, and I loved it!
